I think that to say that nothing of any quality came out of the BSA factory is completely incorrect! I am sure that many people on this group would agree with me. There are enough of them still on the road today!
I would always recommend fitting genuine parts where possible, but they are not always available and sometimes you just have to make do unfortunately.
B31 piston ass, complete with rings, gudgeon pin, circlips £58.00

Thank you for the reply, I have owned six B.S.A. bikes, starting off with a D3 Bantam in the sixties, then a C15, regressing to new B50 SS and now have a M20, C15 and a B3, so I do know them, perhaps I was harsh !!!!
I'm not too happy about a piston from the "Far East", I hope you understand my concern.
I whole heartedly agree with Mick on quality stuff coming out of BSA. I own a 1961 BSA Super Rocket which I rode back to India from UK in 1965 covering approx 18000 kms in 3 months & didnt have a single breakdown inspite of cruising at times all day at 90 / 100 mph. I currently also own a 1953 plunger flash & a 1924 single 500 cc with ballon tyres. Wouldnt trade them for anything.
